Since the start of this Safe Corridors project, the alliance was presented with the University of Colima, with the Neighborhood Committees, with State and Federal Agencies, subsequently the intervention was announced to have the first Safe Corridor in the center of the capital with a total of 51 one blocks with tree pruning, beacons, placement of urban infrastructure, such as bus stops equipped with support information for women, preventive patrols and municipal police telephone. Already having the Diagnosis of the school zone of the Central Campus of the University of Colima, the first stage of implementation was launched, which included more than 715 m2 of sidewalks and ramps, as well as 652 linear meters of curbs and machuelos, 1,557 m2 of curbs and sidewalks, as well as the paving with hydraulic concrete of a section of Del Estudiante Street; spending a total of 2.9 million pesos. In a second stage, 146 LED lights were supplied and installed, safe whereabouts were created and murals and signs were placed that contribute to a culture of eradication of violence against women; disbursing resources for 4.6 million pesos. We thus benefit more than thirty thousand people, guaranteeing their safety and that they can have better illuminated and safer streets for their transportation.
To date, there are more than 200 public spaces with Safe Corridors and actions continue to continue benefiting the families of the municipality.
