Since the start of this Safe Corridors project, the alliance was presented with the University of Colima, with the Neighborhood Committees, with State and Federal Agencies, subsequently the intervention was announced to have the first Safe Corridor in the center of the capital with a total of 51 one blocks with tree pruning, beacons, placement of urban infrastructure, such as bus stops equipped with support information for women, preventive patrols and municipal police telephone. Already having the Diagnosis of the school zone of the Central Campus of the University of Colima, the first stage of implementation was launched, which included more than 715 m2 of sidewalks and ramps, as well as 652 linear meters of curbs and machuelos, 1,557 m2 of curbs and sidewalks, as well as the paving with hydraulic concrete of a section of Del Estudiante Street; spending a total of 2.9 million pesos. In a second stage, 146 LED lights were supplied and installed, safe whereabouts were created and murals and signs were placed that contribute to a culture of eradication of violence against women; disbursing resources for 4.6 million pesos. We thus benefit more than thirty thousand people, guaranteeing their safety and that they can have better illuminated and safer streets for their transportation.

To date, there are more than 200 public spaces with Safe Corridors and actions continue to continue benefiting the families of the municipality.

Provide safe spaces for pedestrian transportation to Colima families, especially for women, girls, boys, young people and adolescents. In addition, contributing directly to a crime prevention policy by providing safe and well-lit spaces, this is one of the public policies in which the majority of the municipal public administration agencies are involved and where the most strategic alliances have been made. .

The Safe Corridors project has been widely accepted, the participatory integration of the population with public and private sectors was achieved to achieve an objective, since its inception it has had its own financial resources and federal contribution funds which has allowed it to have positive results of the planned actions and works; More than 200 safer and more walkable spaces have been created, increasing the safety of families on public roads.

To date, there is total acceptance by the beneficiary population, since public spaces have been improved with various interventions, managing to inhibit criminal acts and violence, especially against women, which results in families that feel safe and protected. in its entirety.

Financing for the actions and works has been mainly with the municipality's own resources, in addition to the contribution of federal funds. Coordination and work relations have been established with the University of Colima, the Neighborhood Committees, various state and federal public agencies, as well as private initiatives.

Future Goal 1

In 2024, it is intended to increase the number of Safe Corridors to more Colonies and extend it to Locations with a larger population, and the installation of more LED Lighting and safe stops is also contemplated.
