The City of São Paulo works so that, by the end of 2024, at least 20% of the municipal bus fleet will be made up of vehicles with a clean energy matrix, bringing numerous advantages: the most significant is that this technology enables zero emission of pollutants, which increases the sustainability of the municipal transport system and has a significant impact on the health and quality of life of the population of São Paulo.

2021-2024: Goal – Achieve 20% of the municipal bus fleet made up of vehicles with a clean energy matrix and zero emission of pollutants. 2025-2028: Goal – Achieve 50% of the municipal bus fleet made up of vehicles with a clean energy matrix and zero pollutant emissions.2029-2038: Goal – Achieve 100% of the municipal bus fleet made up of vehicles with a clean energy matrix and zero pollutant emissions.

Consistency over time

The replacement of the municipal bus fleet by vehicles with a clean energy matrix and zero emission of pollutants is a goal that integrates the 2021-2024 Goals Program of the Municipality of São Paulo and the Climate Action Plan of the Municipality of São Paulo 2020-2025 (Municipal Decree No. 60,289/2021), both periodically monitored. At the end of 2022, 1.66% of the municipal bus fleet consisted of vehicles with a clean energy matrix and zero emissions. With the forecast of incorporating more than a thousand new electric buses to the municipal fleet in 2023, the perspective is of significant expansion to reach the 2024 target. quiet, clean and efficient.
